Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables and one of the world's most famous authors, was born in 1874 in this modest white and green house, decorated with Victorian period pieces and overlooking Prince Edwards Island, New London Harbor. Special exhibits include the replica of the writer's wedding dress and personal scrapbooks containing copies of her many stories and poems.

A Portion of the coastline is protected in the Prince Edward Island National Park located along the central north shore. |
