Cabins are open for rent however swimming and water skiing are not allowed.Campsites are available on a first come first serve basis. If you enjoy fishing you can buy fishing supplies at the Marina everyday except on Tuesdays. There is a public swimming pool. pool hours are on Thursdays to Sundays. La Cygne Lake lies 5 miles east of the town of La Cygne. To reach Linn County Park from U.S. 69, take the La Cygne Exit east 0.3 miles to Valley Road and follow the sign north 2 miles to the park entrance. The wildlife area is located 7.2 miles from U.S. 69. It is reached by traveling east across the dam and then north at the first intersection past the generating plant (Young Road).
The wildlife area has three access points: 1 mile west of Young on 2400 Road and at the upper end of the lake on 399th Street and E.2200th Rd.Hunting and birdwatching are the common activities in the area. Hunters are first asked to register before hunting and to report harvest at the end of the hunt. |

There is also Fort Scott Country Club. Fort Scott's 132 acre Gunn Park located at Park Avenue has been a popular place for picnics, fishing, paddle boats and RV parking for generations. At the entrance to the park there a small display of mostly domestic fowl. There are peacocks, quail, several varieties of golden pheasant, wood ducks, turkeys, chickens and rabbits. Admission is free and is open anytime.
