Ilse-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec,is a small archipelago in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The first European to visit the islands was Jacques Cartier in in 1534. A large proportion of the population are descendants from shipwreck survivors. Over the years there have been 400 shipwrecks on the islands. The major industry in the Quebec, Magdalen Islands is tourism. |

Souris Beach Provincial Park, no campground. Located on highway #2, outside of the town of Souris. Souris Beach is a day use park featuring an unsupervised beach, playground, showers, a wheelchair accessible washroom, flush toilets, canoe and kayak rentals. Souris Beach is a great windsurfing location. Pets are permitted on leash. Access to Provincial Information Centre.

At East Point Lighthouse, during tourist season, local people put on a seafood supper, fund raiser for the lighthouse. They also have local musicians. Milebymile staff attended this function and if you are in the area, check at the Red point Provincial Park bulletin board for dates. |

Entering Community of St. Peters Bay, PEI. North to community of Greenwich, PEI. Greenwich National Park. St. Peters Bay, PEI; is a village, located in Kings County, PEI. Access to Greenwich, Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada. This National Day Park is located on the western tip of Greenwich peninsula between St. Peters Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Park is made up of sandy beaches and a coastal dune system. Other attractions is the Greenwich Interpretation Centre, which features over 20 exhibits showing visitors the amazing natural and cultural history of the park. There is a 12-minute vidio presentation. There are three hiking trails varying in length from 1.25 km to 4.5 kms. The trails have interpretive signs, explaining the ecosystem and history of the park. Greenwich National Park also has a Beach Facility. Services include washrooms, exterior showers, change rooms, a picnic shelter, a wooden boardwalk to the beach and a observation tower. |
