This road is continuing from Hwy 441 from Gatlinburg Tennessee. Newfound Gap is the state line between Tenessee and North Carolina. The Appalachian Trail crosses here, so you can 'hike' a short section of the 'AT'. There are also restrooms here. The scenery from here is fantastic!

At 10 locations in the park are developed campgrounds maintained by the National Park Service, namely Abrams Creek, Look Rock, Big Creek, Deep Creek, Smokemont, Balsam Mountain, Cades Cove, Elkmont, Cosby, and Cataloochee. Side road to Clingmans Dome, the highest point in Tennesse
